Description
Oakleaze Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the late 17th century to early 18th century. It is constructed of coursed and snecked rubble stone on a tall plinth, featuring flush alternating quoins and a hipped Cotswold stone slate roof with two brick stacks. The building has a square range, is two storeys high with an attic, and includes a central raised square well that is faced in rough-cast.
The facade has three windows with wood mullions and transoms, all set within flush alternating quoins and splayed sills. On the ground floor, there are two similar windows alongside a wide central doorcase, which also features flush alternating quoins. The doorcase has a 4-centred timber arch with chamfered jambs and lintel, and a shaped door with five long moulded panels that are glazed at the top above a single wide rail. A flat scalloped wooden doorhood is supported on iron brackets. The ground floor windows are topped with wood lintels, and the projecting sprocketed eaves are adorned with a moulded stone cornice. Some of the side and rear windows retain original or old leading.
