Description
The Pump House at Oakleaze Farm is a former cottage now used for agricultural and storage purposes, dating from the early to mid-17th century. It is constructed of rubble stone, with some areas raised to the roof using brick, and features a slate roof and a single brick stack on the north gable. The building has a square shape with large cross gables and is a single storey with an attic. It includes a columbarium with stone ledges in three remaining gables, with the eastern gable partially obscured by a single-storey coursed stone range on the right that has a pantile roof. The south face, which faces Oakleaze Farmhouse, has a central door with chamfered wood jambs and a cambered lintel, along with an original studded plank door that has two large strap hinges. Flanking the door are twin 4-pane casements with wood lintels, and there is one additional casement above, some of which have been renewed.
