Description
This is a barn located approximately 30 meters north of Honeycombe Farmhouse, dating from the early to mid-18th century. It is constructed from random rubble limestone, mostly built without mortar, and features a stone slate roof. The barn has four bays and an off-centre doorway with timber lintels on either side, which are flanked by slit vents. On the east gable end, there are two slit vents below twelve rows of pigeon holes with perches in the gable. The west end has a tall loft window with fixed lights and glazing bars, also with a timber lintel. A small gabled outbuilding is attached to the southwest corner of the barn. Inside, there is a four-bay king post truss roof, which was originally tie-beam trusses, with some early tie-beams still in place. A loft has been inserted at the east end. This barn forms part of a group with Honeycombe Farmhouse.
