Description

Coldharbour Farmhouse is a farmhouse that has been converted into a dwelling, dating from the 17th and 18th centuries. It is constructed from coursed and squared limestone with a stone slate roof, although some inner slopes are covered with concrete tiles. The building has a complex layout, featuring a principal hipped block to the west and two deep wings to the east, creating a U-shape. There is a secondary entrance in the center of the U and a primary entrance on the north side.

The farmhouse is two storeys high. The north front has two ashlar stacks with moulded caps and skirts that are set to saddleback roofs, which are taken back to the main slopes. There are two large sashes with glazing bars, positioned high in the wall, on either side of an off-centre door. The door is a six-panel design, with four glazed panels, and is topped by a stone hood supported by brackets. Above the door is a well-cut date stone inscribed 'H.A.M. 1751'. Additionally, there are two-light casements with glazing bars set low at the extreme left and right of the façade.

On the return front facing south, there is a one plus three window arrangement. To the left is a large sash with glazing bars beneath a stone lintel that has dropped ends and a keystone, with a small dormer above featuring a sash and bars. To the right, there are three sashes with bars, positioned under two-light casements, the first of which has a Gothick glazing bar pattern. Between these two sections is a panelled door.
