Description
Rose Hill is a detached house dating from 1720, constructed of coursed rubble limestone with ashlar chimneys and a stone slate roof. The building is two-storey with an attic and features a two-storey rear wing. The front has a two-window arrangement, with all windows being three-light recessed chamfered mullioned windows fitted with iron casements. There is a continuous hoodmould over the ground floor, which rises above a central doorway that has a date inscribed on the stone lintel; this doorway is fitted with a 20th-century glazed door. The eaves are moulded, and there are gable end chimneys with moulded caps. On the south-west gable end, there is an off-centre upper floor two-light casement with a hoodmould, along with a single-light window above it. The north-east end features a single-light attic casement. Internally, there are stone fireplaces. At the time of the survey in June 1986, the building was in derelict condition.
