Description
The retaining wall in the garden adjoining and to the east of Court House is a Grade II listed structure, likely built in the 18th century. It serves as a garden wall that acts as a retainer at a change of level. Constructed from brick and limestone, it features saddle-back coping and a series of five brick buttresses. The wall runs approximately 18 meters to the east and then returns south for about 5 meters. It stands about 3 meters high on the lower side and is lower on the upper side. The wall adjoins the southeast corner of the house and includes an opening with piers and ball finials at the top of a set of 11 semicircular steps leading to the house. Additionally, there is an arched opening on the return wall that contains a planked door, along with a blocked two-light hollow mould casement.
