Description
The Chum is a detached house located on the street frontage, dating from the 17th century. It is constructed from limestone ashlar with a stone slate roof and has a T-plan layout. The main front features two storeys and an attic. On the ground floor, there is a three-light and a one-light casement under a stopped hood, while the first floor has two two-light chamfer-mullion stone casements and a two-light hipped dormer. The left side of the house includes a two-light recessed chamfer-mullion casement leading to the attic, and in the wing, there is a two-light chamfer-mullion casement with a 19th-century panelled door that leads to a very flat elliptical fanlight and a timber hood, all under a common stopped hood. The first floor on this side also has a two-light casement with 'gothic' leading under a stopped hood. The gable return features a two-light leaded steel casement. The house has three brick gable stacks. The interior has not been inspected.
