Description
The Pinching family monument is a pedestal tomb located in the churchyard, approximately 1 metre north of the tower of the Church of St James. It dates from 1812 and is made of sandstone with iron railings. The tomb is square and set diagonally within a square enclosure. It features a fluted frieze and has raised inscription panels on each side with rounded tops. The top has a moulded cornice with domical coping and a moulded plinth. The monument is inscribed to Samuel Pinching, who died in 1812, as well as to other family members. The corner posts of the enclosure are topped with acorn finials.
