Description

Chestnuts is an early 18th-century detached house with a later brick addition to the east. The house is constructed of rubble stone and has a triple Roman tile roof with decorative ridge tiles, pantile and tile roofs to the addition. It features one brick stack and a large stone rear lateral stack with a brick flue. The building is a long range, with a hipped outbuilding located behind the east end addition. There are overhanging eaves to the west gable end. The front facade is characterized by two small gables, each containing a two-light casement with a wooden lintel. Previously, there were similar windows on the ground floor; the central door has been blocked to create a third window, and the current entrance is located in the addition to the right. A single two-light window is present on the far left. Plain barge boards are visible on the front gables, and a small gable is present on the rear.
