Description
This is a former farmhouse, now a detached house, dating to the late 17th century. It is located approximately 300 metres northeast of Forthay House. The construction is of random rubble marlstone, with brick chimneys and a stone slate roof. The house is two storeys with an attic, arranged in an L-shape. The front elevation has an irregular arrangement of windows. A large, gabled porch addition with glazed sides has been added to the centre, with a small leaded casement window above it, and a small-paned casement to the right, both with timber lintels. To the left of the porch is a ground-floor window consisting of two and two lights with chamfered stone mullions, a central king mullion, and a hoodmould. Above this is a three-light stone-mullioned casement. To the right-hand end is a small-paned casement with a matching casement above, both with timber lintels. The east side has the gable end of the main range flush with a projecting rear wing. An attic casement is positioned centrally in the gable. The projecting wing has single small-paned casements on both the ground and upper floors, all with timber lintels. A brick gable end chimney stack is present. The rear features a projecting gable end of the wing on the left with a blocked doorway and an off-centre casement. The elevation to the right has a lean-to conservatory addition. A three-light stone-mullioned casement is on the upper floor, alongside other timber casements. A brick gable end chimney stack is located on the west end. The interior has not been inspected.
