Description
The Studio is a building constructed around 1860 for Reverend David Edwards. It features an ashlar limestone brick chimney and a Welsh slate roof. This single-storey structure has a rectangular studio room with a tripartite sash window on the front elevation, which includes a stone flat arch, marginal glazing bars, and stained glass. A continuous moulded entablature runs along the top, and at the corners, there are cut-outs that support a single Roman Doric column with pilaster responds. On the north-west side, there is a central doorway with a stone flat arch and a six-panel door. The interior has not been inspected. There are lean-to additions on the east side that are not considered of special interest. At the time of the survey in October 1985, the building was disused. The Studio is part of a group with Parker's Lodge and the Doric Temple and is one of several features in the extensive Regency and early Victorian landscaped park and pleasure garden.
