Description

This is a former farmhouse, now a detached house, dating to the late 17th century, with an early 19th-century addition. The building is constructed of random and coursed rubble limestone, with rebuilt artificial stone chimneys and a plain tile roof. It is arranged as two storeys with an attic, forming an L-shaped plan with a return wing to the east end. The north front has a doorway with a hoodmould at the right end, incorporating a six-panel door and a single-light window above with a hood. Chamfered mullioned casements with hoods are present to the left, including a two-light and a three-light window; a timber mullioned casement is on the upper floor. The right side of the north front, within the 19th-century addition, has doors and windows with timber lintels. A ridge-mounted chimney sits at the former west gable end of the main house. The east end has a gable with a single window on each floor; a three-light window is on the ground floor, a two-light window with an oval above is on the upper floor, and a two-light window with a hoodmould is in the attic. The side of the return wing to the left of the east end has a two-light window with a hoodmould to the ground floor, and a three-light window above without a hood. The rear of the main range has a three-light recessed chamfered mullioned casement with a hood, and a 20th-century casement above. There is a blocked small single-light with a hood to the left. The west end has a gable with an off-centre 19th-century and 20th-century casement. Previously, there were two attic windows with timber lintels, but one is now blocked. The rear gable end of the return wing projects, featuring a doorway at attic level with a plank door and timber lintel. The interior has not been inspected.
