Description
This group of six monuments is located in the churchyard approximately 15 meters northeast of the chancel of the Church of St. Cyr. They date from the early to late 18th century and are made of limestone and sandstone. The group includes three rectangular pedestal tombs: one in sandstone inscribed to John Perks, who died in 1773; another in sandstone featuring Doric end friezes inscribed to Richard Stephens, who died in 1779; and a limestone tomb with corner balusters and elaborate cartouches inscribed to Thomas Caruthers, who died in 1736. Additionally, there are three chest tombs in limestone: one with gadrooned ends inscribed to Richard Merrett, who died in 1756; and two with lyre ends, one inscribed to Stephen Merrett, who died in 1744, and another with a brick restored end that has an illegible inscription.
