Description
Yew Tree Farmhouse is a detached farmhouse dating from the early to mid-17th century, with an early 19th-century addition. It is constructed of random rubble limestone, featuring ashlar chimneys and a stone slate roof. The building is two storeys high with an attic.
The southwest front shows the 17th-century section on the right, which has a full central gable. It features three windows: two ground floor casements with three lights each, set within recessed cavetto mullions and flanked by hoodmoulds, alongside a central doorway that has a moulded round arch with imposts, a keystone, and an early plank door. The upper floor has 20th-century casements with timber lintels, and there is a timber attic casement in the gable. The gable ends have chimneys with moulded caps.
To the left, the early 19th-century addition includes a central doorway flanked by segmental arched casements and a central gabled dormer at eaves level. The interior has not been inspected. Despite the increasing suburbanization of the area, the farmhouse remains in use as a residence.
