Description

The Holbrook memorial is a chest tomb located approximately 5 meters south of the south wall of the Church of St Giles. It dates from the mid-18th century and is made of limestone. The tomb features a cyma top and base resting on a heavy plinth, with lyre ends and hourglass reliefs. The west side has rectangular moulded panels with carved supporters. The name "HOLBROOK" is inscribed, but the dates are not legible. The design reflects early to mid-18th century baroque style. The top of the tomb is secured with two iron cramps set in lead. This memorial stands out as an isolated but prominent feature in its setting.
