Description

This building comprises Porthole Cottage and a former machine shop, dated 1836. The cottage is a small, two-and-a-half-storey structure built of rubble, with a stone tile roof and a brick chimney topped with dentil detailing. It features a range of circular windows, and an added window with a blocked door below it to the left. The building has red and blue brick quoins and dressings. A window on the right-hand return displays the inscription "J M 1836" on its lintel. A 20th-century gabled entrance wing has been added to the right.

The cottage is linked to a later 19th-century outhouse connected to a small former machine shop. The machine shop has gable end porthole windows and a blocked segmental opening to the right, above which is a window. The central door has a cambered inner arch.
