Description

Nos 33 and 34 High Street are early to mid-18th century buildings with a probable earlier structure beneath. They are two storeys and have an attic. The front facade is rendered and features a moulded wooden eaves cornice and rusticated quoins. There are two ranges of double-hung sash windows, one with glazing bars, all set within elaborate surrounds with keystones and bull-nosed sills. A late 19th-century shopfront, including some stained glass, is also present. Nos 32 to 36 High Street form a group of both historical and architectural importance as they are the only surviving buildings surrounding The Cross, the historic centre of the town.
