Description

The boundary wall and piers to Bencombe House, located on the north-east side, are likely from the 18th century. The wall features a rubble stone face with a brick backing and has a flat stone coping. It runs approximately 40 meters along the roadside, standing about 2.5 meters high at the top end. The wall terminates in a dressed stone pier with a bold rounded capping, which rises to about 3.5 meters high at the lower end. This section includes a short return of the wall leading to another dressed stone pier topped with a ball finial and swept-down coping.
