ST 89 SE MINCHINHAMPTON AVENING VALLEY
7/10005 Buildings Nos 5,6,7,9 and 9A adjoining Old Mill building at Longfords Mill GV II
Ancillary wing to Building No 2, consisting of mid C19 Building 5, Building 7 of 1803-30 (pobably 1804). Building 9 (gig house) of 1830- 1881, Building 9A (potting shed), and Building 6 marked as carriage shed on 1884 map. Coursed limestone rubble with some squared and coursed stone; Welsh slate roofs. Building 5,of the two storeys and extending to north-east of Building 2 (q.v.), has lean-to roof extending to east and segmental-arched windows to north. This adjoins Building 6 which extends with lean-to roof to north, with semi- circular arched doorway to west. Building 7 to east of long rectangular plan and 2 storeys and basement; 6-window fenestration; South elevation has C20 door to left and blocked door-to right, timber lintels over blocked basement openings and 2-light flat-faced stone mullioned windows; north elevation has similar windows, blocked to ground floor; east gable has timber lintel over C19 plank door to basement. Buildings 9 and 9A consist of outshut to north. Interior: Building 7 has collar-truss roof; north lean-to has 2 teazle-raising gigs (dated 1868 on handles) and tanks for dyeing or finishing of cloth.
