Description
Ball's Green House and Ball's Green Cottage are two attached houses dating from the early 19th century. They are constructed of coursed rubble limestone, with brick rebuilt and ashlar chimneys, and feature stone slate roofs. Ball's Green House, the larger of the two, is a two-storey building located to the west, complete with a cellar and attic, and has two rear wings. Ball's Green Cottage is a lower, two-storey range that also includes an attic.
The front of both houses has a three-window arrangement, with all windows being 12-pane sashes. Each house has a central doorway topped with a Regency ironwork porch that features a tent hood. Ball's Green Cottage has three gabled attic dormers with timber casements. There are tall gable-end chimneys that have been rebuilt in brick. A 20th-century lean-to is present at the east end. At the rear of Ball's Green House, there are two gabled return wings, each with single-window casement fenestration and gable-mounted chimneys. The interiors have not been inspected.
