Description

Field House is a 17th-century building with an 18th-century front. It is constructed of ashlar. The two-storey section has a moulded eaves cornice and blocking course, a plain stringcourse above the ground floor, and a continuous sill band to the first-floor windows. It features four ranges of double-hung sash windows with glazing bars. The north front is ashlar and three storeys high, with a parapet. It originally had six ranges of mullioned casements, paired under hoodmoulds, but these are now largely hidden by a modern 18th-century extension. Two gables with coping are present, along with an oval oculus in each. The east front is ashlar, two storeys high, with a moulded eaves cornice and blocking course. It has three ranges of 19th-century mullion and transom windows with lead glazing bars. A six-panel door is set within an absidial conch.
