Description
A chest tomb and an unidentified footstone from the 17th century are located approximately 18 meters west of the gateway to St Mary's Street in the churchyard of the Church of St Mary. The chest tomb is made of limestone and features a thick flat table with a moulded edge, richly carved skulls, lyre ends, and a sunk panel adorned with skulls and drapes on the north side. The south side displays a well-crafted cartouche. A date of 1678 can be deciphered, although a survey from 1879 records the name Mary Bliss and the year 1674. The footstone, situated about 2.5 meters to the east, is a small stone with a sunk panel and an angel's head, but the inscriptions are not legible.
