Description

The churchyard wall, gate piers, and gate at St Mary's Church date from the 18th century. The structure features two pairs of square Cotswold stone piers, each approximately 20 inches square and 6 feet high, topped with moulded and weathered cappings and a plain frieze. These piers are similar to those found at Chipping Manor. The wall is constructed of squared and dressed stone with saddle-back coping and stands about 4 feet from the pavement. It extends from Manor Lane on the left to the boundary of The Court on the right. There is one small wrought iron gate set into the left piers.
