Description
This small farmhouse, likely dating from the 15th or early 16th century, has undergone later alterations. It features brick-nogged timber framing and an asbestos sheet roof. The building is two bays wide, one and a half storeys tall, and one room deep, with the gable facing the road. A cruck truss supports the structure, and there is a boarded door on the left accessed by two brick steps, with a cambered brick arch above. To the right, a large external stone chimney breast has offsets and a brick top. On the first floor, there is a two-light casement window to the right of the chimney stack, and the bargeboards are plain. The left side of the building shows three-panel timber framing to the eaves, with a downward brace on the right from the corner post, which has been cut off, possibly indicating a former door. There is a five-pane window to the left, with weatherboarding above, and a two-pane window beyond. A long, curved brace connects the left corner post to the sill, and there is a single-light casement window in the lean-to dormer above. The interior has not been inspected.
