Description
The carthouse at Platwell Farm, dating from the 17th century, features a granary above and is constructed from rubble stone with dressed stone long and short quoins. It has an L-shaped design and stands two storeys tall. The building has two stone mullioned windows, each with two lights and hood moulds. To the right, there is a stone doorway with an ogee arch incised on a flat stone lintel and stone jambs. At the north end, there is an opening that spans the building, featuring stone quoins, a heavy wooden lintel, and a relieving arch above, along with projecting stones arranged in four pairs along the long side. A flight of steps leads up to the doorway at the rear.
