Description
Three pairs of gateposts stand on a triangular green in front of the main gate to Clearwell Castle. Dating from the early to mid-18th century, the gateposts are constructed of stone, with tooled surfaces on square bases. They feature moulded coping stones and a ball finial on a raised, chamfered foot, approximately 8 feet high. The gateposts are included on the heritage register for their group value, in association with the main gate, flanking lodges, and the wall connecting them.
