Description
Botloe’s Farm is a late 17th-century farmhouse, with subsequent minor alterations and a late 20th-century extension. The original core of the house has a square panel of brick-nogged timber framing, with a brick plinth and a brick gable on the right side. It has a tiled roof. The building is arranged in a T-shape, with the original part consisting of two rooms over two storeys, the upper half of which is incorporated into the roof. The facade of the house faces away from the drive. The timber framing is arranged in three panels high. There is a three-light casement window on the right, originally with weatherboarding above, and a boarded door to the left, leading up three stone steps to a tiled, lean-to porch supported by brackets. A slightly raised plinth is visible to the left, below a double-boarded door to a cellar accessed by steps. Above the three-light casement, a cyma moulding is visible, indicating the original mullions and the remains of blocks that carried weatherboard above. A first-floor two-light casement window is located within a lean-to dormer on the right-hand side. A late 20th-century four-light casement window is positioned in a similar dormer on the left. A chimney is situated on the ridge of the roof to the left.
