Description
The Mortuary Chapel, built in 1867 by architect John Middleton, is located on the south side of High Street in Newland. Constructed from squared snecked rubble stone with Bath stone dressings, it features a tiled roof. The chapel has a bellcote on the north side, a large rose window beneath it, and an elaborate carved doorway. Inside, the chapel is a plain single cell with unplastered walls and two single lancets on each side. The roof is supported by scissor beams.
