Description
Wellington Farmhouse is a former farmhouse, now serving as a trekking centre and boarding kennels. It dates from the early 18th century and is constructed of coursed and dressed rubblestone with roughcast on the sides and stacks. The roof is covered with double roll tiles and features large projecting stepped stone stacks at each end. The building has two storeys and an attic, with a single range and a 20th-century extension at the rear.
There are three windows on the front, which are wooden 19th-century 3-light casements. The ground floor windows to the left and right have stone voussoirs. A central gabled porch has a large stone lintel over the opening, with an inserted window immediately to the right of the porch. Inside, some large chamfered and stopped beams remain on both floors. The attic features an A-frame structure with cambered collar beams, along with one partition wall made of lath and plaster and bracing.
