Description
The Tayler Monument is a headstone located in the churchyard of the Church of St. Mary, approximately 18 meters south along the path from the south chancel porch. It commemorates Jonathon Tayler, who died in 1755. The stone features a cambered head with additional scroll curves at the foot on each side, adorned with cherubs' heads. It is decorated with Rococo ornamentation all around, including a skull and bones at the foot. The stone remains unweathered with good lettering, making it one of the finest headstones in a churchyard that contains many excellent 18th-century headstones.
