Description
The Old Rectory is a house built in the early 19th century. It features red brick in Flemish bond on the front and side, topped with an asbestos slate roof. The building is two storeys high and two rooms deep, with gable chimneys and a single-span roof. Its symmetrical facade is three windows wide, with a six-panelled door that has fielded upper panels and flush lower panels, set in square-headed panelled reveals. There is a marked projection to the gabled hood, supported by console brackets on flat pilasters that are fluted in the upper half. The 'capital' is formed by a moulding with guttae above the consoles. The windows have stone sills and five stone voussoirs, featuring a stepped upper surface and a slightly projecting keystone. The upper windows are original 15-pane sashes, while the lower windows are single-pane sashes. The eaves have a dentil oversailing course with minimal projection, and the centre course is formed of brick-on-edge.
