Description
Redhill Cottage is a cottage that likely dates from the 17th century, with some 19th-century features and minor alterations from the 20th century. It has a brick-nogged timber frame, a painted brick lean-to, and a tiled roof. The cottage consists of two or three bays and is one room deep with one and a half storeys, featuring a lean-to at one end. The entrance front is positioned at right angles to the road and includes a large external brick chimney on the left side, which has offsets and is cut down to the ridge line. The front of the cottage has framing that is three panels high to the eaves, but this is replaced by brick on the left side down to the bottom two panels. There is a two-light 20th-century metal casement window and a single-storey gabled porch with an open front, a timber lintel, and a half-glazed door. To the right, there is another two-light 20th-century metal casement window, similar to one in the gable of the lean-to extension at the end. A rooflight is located to the right of the front door, and there is a curved brace in the rear wall at the sill.
