Description
No. 43 Church Street is an early 19th-century house featuring Flemish-bond brickwork and a rendered gable that is set back from the adjacent No. 45. The house has a tiled roof and is two windows wide, rising to three storeys. A single stone step leads up to the six-panel front door, which has fielded panels on the upper section and flush panels on the bottom two. Above the door is a single-pane rectangular fanlight with panelled reveals. Fluted Tuscan pilasters frame the door, with a plain frieze on either side and a flat head that has moulding. To the right of the door is a tripartite sash window with a rubbed brick arch above it. Beyond this window, there is a slightly recessed outline of a dummy doorway. On the first floor, there are sash windows with stepped stone voussoirs and a slightly projecting keystone, along with wrought iron window boxes. The second floor features a single-pane sash window with lintels similar to those on the first floor. The house has moulded timber eaves.
