Description
The Tayler Monument is a chest tomb located in the churchyard, approximately 13.5 meters south of the tower of the Church of St. Mary. It dates from the third quarter of the 18th century and is made of stone. The tomb features a flat lid with a moulded edge, plain sides and ends that have a narrow margin, and framed square corner pieces with fielded panels on each face. It has a chamfered plinth and displays good, well-cut lettering. The monument commemorates William Tayler, who died in 1762, as well as other members of the same family, with inscriptions extending up to 1780.
