Description
Peach Tree Cottage is a detached house dating from the 17th century. It is timber-framed with rendered panels and a tiled roof. The building has two rooms and is two storeys high, with the upper half set in the roof. The frame consists of two panels high, with joists that are tenoned through the studs and pegged.
On the ground floor, there are two 2-light wooden casement windows with iron opening lights, and above, a gabled dormer features a similar window. The gable on the right has tension braces and two collars to the truss, while the left gable is rendered and has a brick chimney at the apex, with a door located on the left side.
At the rear, remnants of an original canted oriel window can be seen, including a half-applied head and sill, which have been cut by an extension built in the 1970s that connects to a former farm building. Inside, the ceiling joists on the ground floor are chamfered and feature run-out stops.
