Description

Zion House is a house dating from the early to mid-19th century. It is constructed of red brick in a Flemish bond pattern, with a slate roof. The house is a symmetrical, rectangular two-story block, two rooms deep, with a central chimney and a hipped roof. The main facade features three sash windows per floor, each with four panes of glass. These windows have slightly cambered heads finished with rubbed brick voussoirs and stone sills. A six-panelled front door is centrally located, with an elliptical fanlight above; cast-iron brackets support a sheet-metal hood. Wide eaves are boarded to the roof. The chimney is set slightly behind the roof ridge. The left return side of the house has two windows. The rear wall is of roughly-cut rubble stone.
