Description

The Hartland monument is a pedestal tomb located in the churchyard about 9.5 meters south of the tower of the Church of St. Mary. It commemorates Hartland, who died in 1842, and is made of stone. The monument features a small pyramid top with a moulded edge and scotia, along with a weathered top and vertical leaf frieze. The plain corners are slightly proud of the sides and have raised oval, pointed ends intended for lettering. The plinth has a moulded top, and the inscription includes good lettering, primarily in capitals, with some Gothic lettering.
