Description

Church House is an early 18th-century house situated on the south side of High Street in Ruardean. It is built with painted render over an ashlar plinth, and has a slate roof. The house is four windows wide, with a lean-to extension at the rear. It is two storeys high. The front features tall sash windows. The central front door is a six-panel design, with a lower flush panel and scalloped corners to the fielded centre, surmounted by a plain semi-circular fanlight. Either side of the door are plain facings, incorporating consoles to an open-gable head with a semi-circular soffit around the fanlight. Brick gable chimneys are present, with the one on the right incorporated within the roofline. The sash windows and front door appear to be early 19th-century alterations to the earlier 18th-century building.
