Description
Cowles House is a house dating from around 1600, constructed of stone and timber-framing with a slate roof. It has two storeys and features a front wall with exposed square-panelled framing set between stone gable walls. The eaves have been raised. The house is divided into three bays and has 20th-century casement windows, with a door located in the central bay. A projecting chimney stack is situated on the right-hand gable. Inside, the right-hand room showcases exposed ceiling joists that span the width of the house, along with a fireplace that has a chamfered and stopped bressummer. The roof trusses include struts between the tie-beam and collar, with V-struts positioned above the collar.
