Description
Glenwye is a former Dower House built in the early 19th century, likely designed by William Miles of Ebley, near Stroud, for William Vaughan of Courtfield. The building has undergone some 20th-century alterations. It features rendered stone and hipped slate roofs, with a T-plan layout. The main range runs southwest to northeast, facing northwest, while the rear range is aligned northwest to southeast. There are additional blocks at the angles of the T and a 20th-century extension to the west of the main range, along with a forward projecting porch in a matching style.
This Regency stucco villa is two storeys high and includes a string course and a moulded eaves cornice. The façade has three windows, which are single vertical glazing bar sash windows, along with a 20th-century three-light casement window on the ground floor to the left of the Ionic porch in antis. The porch features a cornice and blocking course, with a partly-glazed outer door and a four-panelled inner door. The northeast and southeast gable ends have two-storey canted bay windows topped with shallow pediments, and the angle blocks are adorned with blank semi-circular headed arches.
