Description

The Parker Monument is a chest tomb located in the churchyard of the Church of St. Lawrence, approximately 12 meters west of the center window on the west wall of the nave. It commemorates J. Parker, who died in 1789, and is made of stone. The tomb features a flat lid with a moulded edge and quarter square corner balusters. The west sides have a sunk margin leading to a rectangular shape, with the top corners adorned with low-relief leaf decoration. The east side has a raised rectangular panel, while the south end is plain with an indented line forming a rectangular panel. The north side displays a flaming urn in relief. The monument stands on a chamfered plinth and includes later inscriptions.
