Description
The Gearing Monument is a chest tomb located about 3.5 meters southeast of the south door in the churchyard of the Church of St. Lawrence. It dates from the early 19th century and is made of limestone. The tomb features a moulded capping and a tall moulded plinth on a large base that was formerly surrounded by railings. It has a tent top and quarter baluster corners. The end panels are plain and fielded with a reeded edge, while the sides are plain and recessed, also with a reeded edge and flanking narrow strips. The inscriptions on all sides are badly eroded.
