Description
The building is a dovecote and adjoining range at Ashley Manor Farm, likely dating from the late 18th century. It is constructed from random coursed rubble stone and features a stone slate roof. The central dovecote is a rectangular, two-storey structure, flanked by a long single-storey range that primarily serves as a blind wall to the north. The right side of the range has been significantly altered, while the left side contains a three-bay former animal shelter with bays partly filled by plank walls. There is a stable with an entrance on the north side and a cart shed at the end, which has double timber doors on the gable end. The dovecote features a louvred ridge lantern topped with a pyramidal roof and a stone ball finial. The ground floor includes a stable door and a square opening, both with timber lintels, as well as square perch holes throughout the interior, positioned above a rat rail set just over 1 meter above the floor. Additionally, there is a freestanding three-step mounting block located on the north side of the stable.
