Description

These are a row of five former almshouses, now houses, dating from 1875 and built for T.S. Bazley. They are constructed of coursed, rock-faced rubble limestone, with rubble chimneys and a Welsh slate roof. The two-storey building has a varied roofline with gabled and raking dormers, and a catslide roof extended over two porches. The windows are three-light mullioned casements, those below the gables having stepped heads. Three ridge chimneys are visible. The final house returns to the south at the west end, and there is a parallel outbuilding range to the rear which is linked to the main building at the west end. A clock tower is set into the angle of the building at the west end; it has a diagonal set top and a spirelet divided into two parts, with a timber belfry opening. The interiors have not been inspected.
