Description

The gate piers to Boxwell Court date from the mid to late 18th century and are made of limestone ashlar. They are square in shape and feature rectangular chamfered recesses on the upper part of each side, with those facing the road displaying a Rococo cartouche that includes the Huntley coat of arms. The piers have moulded coped tops that once supported ball finials. The wrought-iron gates are a later addition and are not considered of special interest. These gate piers mark the entrance to the long drive leading to Boxwell Court.
