Description
Foxhill House is an early 19th-century detached house, originally and incorrectly shown on Ordnance Survey maps as Guiting Villa. The house is constructed of ashlar limestone, with coursed squared and dressed limestone, and has a concrete tile roof to the main body and a slate roof to a later extension. It features ashlar stacks. The design is based on a square plan, with a portico across the front facade, projecting forwards on the right side, and a rectangular extension set back on the right.
The front, overlooking the garden, is two storeys high and has three windows. The first floor has three-light metal casement windows with glazing bars within pointed arched openings, which have curving glazing bars towards the apex. The ground floor features three glazed doors with glazing bars in pointed arched surrounds, opening onto the portico. The portico has a lean-to roof supported by piers with quatrefoil shapes. The extension to the left is a single storey and two windows wide, incorporating 20th-century twelve-pane sash windows within pointed arched surrounds with curving glazing bars towards the apex. The main body of the house has a pyramidal roof with an octagonal lantern and an ogee-shaped leaded top, including a weather vane. The interior remains uninspected.
