Description
The Moss and Unidentified Monument is located about 7 meters and 12 meters south of the chancel in the churchyard of the Church of All Hallows. This Grade II listed structure consists of a chest tomb and a pedestal tomb. The Moss family monument commemorates Thomas Moss, who died in 1729, while the unidentified monument dates from the late 18th century. Both are made of limestone.
The Moss monument features a moulded plinth and capping on a large base, with indented corners and recessed panels that are arched at the ends. It has a tall chamfered cap with side pieces on the east and west, rising to a gadrooned top with a finial. The unidentified monument has a flat top, with a moulded plinth and capping on its base, also featuring indented corners, low relief insets, slightly fielded oval end panels, and horizontal ovals on the sides.
