Description
Sheafhouse is a stable building dated 1831, as indicated by a diamond-shaped plaque on the gable ends. It is constructed of coursed squared and dressed limestone with a stone slate roof. The building has a square courtyard plan with an entrance on the south side. It features small rectangular windows without glazing and stable doors that face into the courtyard. There are two 5-bay open-fronted stores, which are divided by square stone piers that have chamfered corners with run-out stops. Inside, the original roof trusses include curving collar and tie beams, along with double butt purlins and possibly original partitions between the stalls.
