Description
The Old Chequers is a cottage dating from the late 17th century or early 18th century, which was altered and extended in the mid-to-late 19th century to function as a farmhouse. The building consists of three parts and is two storeys high, constructed of coursed rubble with tiled, Cotswold stone, and slated roofs. The windows are arranged irregularly, with two in the centre and two on the left side, while the right side features a three-light sash window with a central key.
On the north front, the eastern section, which is the older part, has a range of mullion windows on the left. There are also two ashlar ridge chimneys with moulded capping. The central section includes a 19th-century segment-headed window with a door located below it.
