Description
The Malt House and adjoining store with loft over is a detached house built between the late 18th century and mid-19th century, constructed in several stages. It features coursed squared and dressed limestone and has a stone slate roof with ashlar stacks that were restored in the 20th century. The building has a 'T'-shaped plan and stands two storeys tall. The facade facing the road has three windows, with the right-hand bay forming the gable end of a cross wing. The first floor has two and three-light casements, while the former front door, now altered, has a flat canopy supported by moulded brackets, with a rectangular bay inserted. To the right, there is a sixteen-pane sash window and a 20th-century two-light casement with leaded panes on the ground floor of the gabled cross wing. The store to the right has a loft above, featuring a 19th-century plank door and double plank doors. There is a pitching window on the first floor, flat coping at the gable ends, and a pointed finial at the left gable end. The building also has axial stacks. The interior has not been inspected.
